4. The Menu Entries
4.1 File
New...
Directory: Opens a dialog to create a new
directory
name in the current (highlighted) directory location.
Device: Opens a Device dialog for
mounting a file system. This can be either a mountable device, or
an FTP or SMB network file system.
Open terminal
Opens a terminal window in the currently selected
directory using the
default shell set in the Options dialog
of the View menu. Also accessable via the keyboard shortcut, CTRL-T
Quit
Exits Kruiser. Also accessable via the keyboard
shortcut, CTRL-Q.
4.2 Edit
Cut
Cuts the current file(s)/directory
selection. The selected
file(s)/directories can then be pasted to
a different directory location. Functions much like the Unix mv command,
except that selections can be cut and pasted across different file systems
including FTP or
SMB. Also accessable via the keyboard shortcut,
CTRL-X
Copy
Copies the selected file(s)/directory selection.
The selected
file(s)/directories can then be pasted to a different
directory location. Also accessable via the keyboard shortcut, CTRL-C
Paste
Pastes the current COPY selection to the
currently
selected directory. Also accessable via the keyboard shortcut,
CTRL-V
Delete
Deletes the current file(s)/directory
selected. WARNING! There is no way to get the information back!
Move to trash
Moves the currently selected file(s)/directory
to the Trash directory.
Select all
Selects all file(s)/directories in the current
window.
4.3 View
Toolbar
Toggles view of the Toolbar on and
off. The Toolbar can also be toggled or relocated with the mouse
at it's left corner.
Statusbar
Toggles view of the Status Bar on
and off.
Refresh
Refreshes the view in the current window.
Options...
Opens the Options dialog box. Contains five
tab windows with the following options:

Mime Types
Choice between using KDE Mime types and
Local
Mime types.

Icons
Choice between displaying KDE Icons and
Local
Icons.

Use magic numbers
Toggle usage of magic numbers with mime
types.

Default shell
Define shell application to use when
calling Terminal window.

On startup use
Choose between using the Current directory
or the Last used directory in Kruiser.

Details
Allows the user to customize the file view
window properties to suit their tastes. The user may choose the file
attributes to view in the Type dropdown textbox, and define
or modify the Width for each. The Date format may also be
chosen with the dropdown textbox.

Add
Click New to create a mime type. Opens
a Mime type properties dialog to define the following properties:
Extensions,
Description, Application, Icon, Mime type and File name.
Please note: Presently this only
works with Local Mime types checked on the General Properties
Tab. Use KFM to define new Mime types when KDE Mime
types is checked on General Properties Tab.

View Tab
Allows setting preferences for viewing of Archive
files and Mini images.

Archive Files
Customize the archive file patterns for
viewing
of tar, zip and rpm files by defining patterns in
the Pattern textbox and then setting the Type in the Type
dropdown
textbox.

Mini images
Customize the image viewing behavior of Kruiser
for larger images by setting the Saving policy and size threshold.

Misc

Define the Edit application and edit behavior
for unknown files.

Set or unset save passwords on exit.

Set or unset Change mouse icon over file
items.
Big icons
Changes the icons in the current window
to full size.
Lists icons
Changes the icons in the current
window to
mini-icons in list form.
Small icons
Change the icons in the current
window to mini-icons.
Detail
Change the window view
to show details.
List by...
Select view order for window.
Choise are: name, size, type or date.
View...
Toggle choices for viewiing hidden
files, mini-images, archive files and image preview.
Multiple view
Toggle between Multiple windows view
and Single window view.
View type
Toggle between Single, split vertical,
and split horizontal views for Single window view.
4.4 Tools
Find...
Launch the KDE Find files utility.
Connect new device
Opens a Device dialog for mounting
a file system. This can be either a mountable device, or an FTP
or SMB network file system.
Disconnect
Opens a Remove device dialog
box for disconnecting either mountable, FTP, or SMB
devices. All currently configured mountable devices will be
listed here.
Go to...
Opens a dialog for making a change in
directory for the view window.
