Pre-compiled binary packages for R-1.7.x for Windows ==================================================== *********************************************************** This collection is for rw1070/1 only. It is no longer being updated: please update to rw1091. Last update: 25.11.2003. *********************************************************** Building binary versions of the contributed packages on CRAN has been automated. Binary packages will available on CRAN about 1-3 days after the sources have been published. Please do *not* submit binary versions of any packages, because that needs manual intervention by this collection's maintainer (hence it is time consuming). Packages that do not compile out of the box or do not pass "Rcmd check" will not be published. This collection is unsupported. Please compile from sources yourself in case of any problems. Please ask the package maintainer in case of any questions. Since R-1.8.0 has been released, some packages are updated and do no longer compile for R-1.7.x (or do no longer pass Rcmd check). The last `working' versions of these packages are available for manual download in subdirectory ./last The following packages do not compile out of the box on my machine: fracdiff, gtkDevice, hdf5, rimage, RmSQL, rpvm, RQuantLib, rsprng, sampfling Possible reasons are - I do not have some other software the package depends on, - the package needs manual configuration, - any other reason I do not want to discover. The packages EMV and RArcInfo fail make check. The packages SJava, XML, ncdf, netCDF, and xgobi do not build out of the box. Nevertheless these are available at http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin kindly provided by Professor Brian D. Ripley. Although the packages RMySQL, ROracle, and snow pass make check, it seems to be dangerous to distribute them: I do not have the software available these packages depend on. RMySQL is available at http://stat.bell-labs.com/RS-DBI/download, provided by its maintainer, David A. James. Be aware that in R-1.7.0 the binary versions of the bundles VR and dse cannot be updated using update.packages() or install.packages(), because of a bug in rw1070: you need to download the zip files manually and unzip them (manually) in your local rw1070/library. Even better: Upgrade to R-1.9.1! Uwe Ligges Uwe.Ligges@R-project.org
